After 2 years of existence, Facebook has decided for its experimental app 'Lasso' to be cut after failing to meet the benchmark set by ByteDance's TikTok.
The "copycat" app is set to be removed by 10 JULY 2020.
With 'Lasso' out of the way, Facebook will be investing more efforts in the same TikTok-like video service called 'Reels' - with Instagram.
Almost everyone is using Instagram, so I'm pretty sure implementing this feature would only make the app even more popular.
As for 'Lasso', even with more than 5 Million downloads, it failed with intriguing its users to stay addicted - having that it has less than 80,000 daily active users, following a report by analytics firm 'App Annie'.
How do you think 'Reels' will perform?
