Marvel Studios have announced that they will be releasing an Asian superhero movie in the Phase 4 of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Soon to be released in February 2021, Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings consists of a line-up of reputable Asian cast, including Tony Leung and Awkwafina.
Filming has started in Sydney and rumours circulate that Michelle Yeoh is included in the movie. After she posted a photo of herself in Sydney on Instagram, the post went viral with speculations that she was in the city filming the forthcoming Marvel movie.
Well, Michelle Yeoh didn’t deny the rumours outright in her recent interview with TIMES. So, are the rumours true then?
No stranger to the Hollywood film industry, Michelle Yeoh has been recognized by many for her martial arts fighting skills. She first broke barriers as an Asian female actress by being the sidekick to James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. She continued gaining accolades after acting in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragons and the hilarious Asian rom-com, Crazy Rich Asians.
I guess we will only find out when the date is approaching. Are you excited to see Marvel’s first Asian superhero movie?
