Gopro is a well-known all-purpose action camera that’s used for a variety of activities by both casual users and enthusiast. They cover a wide range of camera accessories which allows users to bring them underwater in such a compact size.
On 30th October 2020, they announced their partnership with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) who are recognised as the world’s largest diver organisation in conjunction of the first Underwater Selfie Day.

According to the official statement, their aim is to raise awareness for ocean conservation around the world, to show “millions of people around the world just how incredible [the ocean] really is and why it’s worth protecting”. Find our more on PADI’s efforts to save the ocean by clicking here.
Mark your calendars on 7 November 2020 and get involved!
The steps to participate is as easy as counting 1..2..3.. ! All you got to do is to take an underwater selfie or even a video with your GoPro and share them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. When you share it, make sure you use #underwaterselfieday and most importantly, tag PADI and GoPro’s official accounts in all your social media post across all platforms!
Don’t have access to an ocean?
Don’t worry about it. You can use any of your old underwater photos but make sure you used a GoPro to take it! The winners will be judged based on their “performance and style, composition and framing, and overall creativity”. (Does that mean I should take a selfie with a shark?)
