I’m sure we are all aware on how the pandemic has been affecting many different industries. One such industry that’s feeling more than a pinch is the Tourism and F&B industry. With travel restrictions and our recent Movement Control Order (MCO), the idea of travelling seems like a distant dream at the moment. Working in this industry right now is a challenge.
Fortunately, a hotel in Melaka found a way to not only survive the MCO but also to be positive and hopeful even in the current situation. Hatten Hotel Melaka is selling affordable lunch for just RM2!

Calling it ‘Nasi Bajet’, you will be able to get a generous amount of rice along with meat such as chicken or fish and some vegetables.

The hotel was sadly not making any revenue during the MCO since interstate travel is not allowed, lowering the number of guests. This resulted in Hatten Hotel’s in-house restaurant to be shut down according to head chef Badrol Hisham Mohd Ali.
The selling of cheap lunches became a hit as almost everyone is experiencing financial difficulties and would be more than delighted to opt for cheaper food options. Hatten Hotel has been receiving around 500 hungry customers daily (wow!).

Bored of the same food ? Don’t worry as the menu for ‘nasi bajet’ changes everyday. They have other side dishes too such as ayam madu, ayam percik, cookies, and cakes. All of these are sold separately.
The stalls open from 12pm to 8pm daily!
Wow, RM2 for lunch and the food looks amazing. I really wish I’m in Melaka right now! For those who are around the area, drop by and try it out!
